Our projects of note and applications include:

18’ Dia Segment Guide and Thrust Bearing

We won this contract from a prominent OEM, and were asked to build a segment bearing for the Three Gorges Power Project in China. From conception and drawing, to completion and delivery, this project took 12 weeks in total.

Runner Plates

When a hydro plant came to us with a rush job, we didn’t disappoint. We created a 12’ runner plate superfinishing the runner surface to less than 8 rms surface finish.

Spring Assemblies

We manufacture, assemble and set high-pressure spring assemblies to any tension in order to support thrust bearing pads.

High-Temperature Bolting

A prominent steam generation facility awarded us a project to provide them with Durahette 1055 steel bolting. We are one of a few companies in North America to stock this material.

Hydrogen Seals

We beat out overseas competitors to become the manufacturer and repairer of hydrogen seals for a leading OEM in the power generation industry.

Nuclear Steam Valves

We repair liners and stoppers, valves used in large steam turbines. Eroded and scored liners and stoppers are repaired by the flame spray process and machined and ground back to OEM specs.

Metal (Flame) Spraying

We have thermal single wire spray, twin wire arc spray, and thermal powder spray. These systems are primarily used for the build-up of the outside bearing seats, which distort during the re-babbitting process. We also flame-spray a proprietary epoxy on motor bearing seats to eliminate electric conductivity. We have a large customer base in the Middle East who require these services.

Lead Bearing and Liners

While we prefer to work with other metals, we can provide lead-based products to our customers. We have controlled substance programs in place to meet the strict labour and environmental regulations regarding the use of lead.
